So happy to be bringing back the monthly favorites. Now that it’s summer, I’ve had all the time to do nothing but lay back and observe. As I’ve said in the past, I think that it’s important to take note of what brings you happiness each month. I’ll expand a bit more on that today!

Music of July

Here’s a playlist of songs that have been on repeat this month. Check out the blog’s playlists page to find more music. Again, the playlists are always being updated and there are new ones are always being created.

1. FOOD, SEX, AND MONEY PODCAST BY KENZIE BURKE

I have been a follower of Kenzie Burke for over a year now. I had a soul awakening last spring, in 2020, that started with learning about food. I have Kenzie to thank for that. I starting with food combining and that lead me down a path that was so much deeper. This is typical of any awakening that deals with alignment and stepping into your true self.

And her podcast touches on so much more than food! It includes honest conversations about the human experience and explores every pillar of life.

2. DYLAN JAMES ON YOUTUBE

I’ve always been interested in the Law of Attraction and Manifestation, but it seemed like this “mystical thing” that was out of my reach. Dylan James is a mindset coach and because of him, in such a short time I’ve learned so much about manifesting. It starts at a “core” and “foundational” level – you. He emphasizes on the power of self-love and even re-programming the subconscious mind to believe that you are limitless. I’m starting to see my own life from a completely different perspective and am truly becoming comfortable in myself.

3. ARIANA GRANDE’S OFFICIAL LIVE PERFORMANCES ON VEVO… SPECIFICALLY “MY HAIR”

Yeah. I truly don’t have any words for this performance. Or any of the live performances. Absolutely incredible. She is graceful and gifted and her light shines so bright.

4. LOVE LISTS

Back in the Spring when I wasn’t in the best place, I started making a list of all the things that I love. It could be a person, a song, a food, or an event that occurred. Full circle moment when this month, I was extremely anxious for an extended period of time. I realized how “being present” was something that I was not living or embodying. I quickly ran to my notes and made a commitment to start being more present and more mindful. I do this every week and it’s a great reminder that life is full of treasures and that some of them are mine.

5. GRAND ARMY ON NETFLIX

Not usually one to be attracted to soapy teen dramas but I found myself glued to the screen and enthralled with Grand Army. I loved the story telling and the honesty of each character’s reality.

Grand Army follows the lives of teens at a public school in Brooklyn, NY. It’s nine episodes and each one is around forty minutes to almost an hour. It deals with real issues like sexual assault, body image, racial injustice, and identity. I’m devastated that it wasn’t renewed for a second season but am so thankful that it exists in the first place. I highly recommend.
